What to Expect On Your First Dance Lesson
Congratulations on taking the first steps on your Dance Journey. We have talked on the phone, communicated by text and email and now finally we get to meet face-to-face and DANCE! Hooray!
Your first time dancing may be a little nerve-racking. But, not to worry, our friendly staff will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and hopefully put your mind at ease. Remember, dancing can be a fun and rewarding experience.
After a quick studio tour, your teacher will have a bit of a chat to get to know you, your reasons to dance and your dance ability to help tailor your first lesson to suit you. Whether you’re learning for a wedding, to show off to your friends on the dance floor or just to want to learn for fun, we are ready for you!
Don’t worry about wearing dance shoes or dance clothing; wear something that makes you feel comfortable and is not too restrictive.
The first thing you will learn on your lesson will be a few Basic Elements (The Alphabet or ABC of Dancing) which when put together and rearranged into different orders will make up all the dances that you will learn.
Some dances that you may learn on your first lesson could be:
Your teacher or partner will take you for a whirl around the dance floor to some catchy music. Remember, it may be your first time dancing so, you do not have to get everything right or perfect straight away. The dance skills that you learn on your first lesson can be taken with you anywhere you go.
Overall, you should expect to have fun and know that your learning is in very capable hands with people who are ready to spark or rekindle your passion and love for dancing.
